"…bondservant and an apostle…"
(Titus 1:1)

Paul was a man on a mission!

He was driven by his call and his commission. Look at how Peterson puts it: "I am God's slave and Christ's agent." (The Message)

God's slave. He was called to a relationship. This word, used for servant, speaks of the relationship between the servant and his master. Bought by the blood of Jesus, he knew that he was not his own. He understood that God had rescued him from darkness and transferred him into the Kingdom of His dear Son (Col. 1:13).

Slave-bought with a price. The price paid not only delivered him from something but permanently bonded him to someone. Our hearts are permanently bonded to our Master and we long to please Him in all respects.

Apostle-a messenger; one sent on a mission; sent with a message.

There was an office of apostle held by those first-century men who knew the Lord Jesus and established His church. Yet, there is something in this word that should move us into action! We too should be driven by the same mission. We have been given the message of forgiveness. We, the people of God, have been commissioned to be living representatives of Jesus here on earth. We are on a mission!

So, what's your mission statement? What drives you? What should be driving you?

Father,

If anything is controlling me, if I am a slave to anything but You, please open my eyes and reveal it.
I know that You bought me with a price and I want my heart bound only to You and Your will. I want to be controlled by Your Spirit and driven by the work of Your Kingdom.

I am seeking Your face….in Jesus' Name, Amen
